On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 June at 8pm, perhaps the biggest name in UK comedy, Lee Evans returns to The Octagon Theatre. The comedy icon returns to the theatre for the first time since 2011 with another warm up tour prior to his UK stadium tour: ‘Work in Progress’.
The two performances, made up of over 1,200 seats, sold out in record time – just 50 minutes. This rush for tickets reflects the two stellar nights of top quality comedy that audiences can enjoy here this weekend.
Sean Welsh, Operations Manager at The Octagon Theatre, said, ‘We are so excited to have Lee back at The Octagon. His last tour war a roaring success and this one promises to be even better following record breaking sales’.
After Lee’s sell-out performances, The Octagon Theatre will be welcoming a host of other big-name comedians throughout its Autumn/Winter season, such as Katherine Ryan, Al Murray, Omid Djalili, Ruby Wax, Alan Davies and Dave Gorman.
The Octagon Theatre’s comedy scene is certainly growing as the theatre has already seen performances from the likes of Jon Richardson, Josh Widdicombe and Adam Hills, even having Jason Manford tweet about the theatre: ‘Perfect theatre @OctagonYeovil, highly recommended to @McInTweet @JohnBishop100 @SarahMillican75 @russellhoward @MickyF_Official @almurray’.
Watch this space for even more comedy that will surely be coming soon to The Octagon Theatre.
