So we (myself and Brad Fitt the Director/Tea Boy) have just finished a weeks long rehearsal for ‘My Dogs Got No Nose’ at the Curve Theatre in Leicester. Its a play that I have done before and therefore I know quite well. It is great to have Brad directing it this time and have his views and opinions on how we can change and improve it. We started from the top on Monday morning and began working our way through it, by Thursday we were confident enough to have a run through which we did whilst in the company of the plays writer, Ron Aldridge. Ron was really pleased with what we had done with his play this time and congratulated Brad on a great job. Later that day Ron and I were filmed for the ‘My Dogs Got No Nose’ promo video that will be sent to all the Theatres that are on the tour. On Friday we ran the entire show technically with lighting changes etc and we said good bye to Leicester until we return on the 13th Feb when we will be playing during Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.
It was a great rehearsal week although the apartment that Brad and I stayed in was really cold, it was so cold we had to open the fridge door to stay warm, it was that cold I chipped a tooth eating soup, in fact it was so cold Brads teeth didn’t stop chattering and they were still in a glass…. that’s how cold it was!!!
I am really looking forward to returning to Yeovil and getting back on The Octagon stage. I have played The Octagon many times before during the Bruce James years and I have had some of the best nights of my life there. I’ll never forget that feeling I got doing the Cooney farces, the entire theatre would be rocking with laughter. It was during my time at The Octagon that I learned a lot about comedy and how to work different audiences.
I cant wait to return to Yeovil and to bring My Dogs Got No Nose to the Octagon Theatre. I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I do.
Love and Laughter
