The Octagon Theatre is proud to have officially become a Safe Place in Somerset.
The Safe Place scheme is supported by the police, council and local disability groups and aims to help vulnerable people deal with difficult situations that make them feel scared or at risk whilst they are out and about in the community. This could be anything from being lost to losing a mobile phone or being harassed or bullied.
As a Safe Place, The Octagon Theatre is now somewhere that vulnerable people can go to should they experience a difficult situation. People who have joined the Safe Places scheme carry an ‘I need help’ card containing an emergency contact number which will enable Octagon Theatre staff to assist anyone who comes to our Safe Place and requires our help.
We are proud to assist our local community, through becoming a Safe Place, and are delighted that people now know that they can always rely on The Octagon Theatre as a Safe Place in Somerset.
Look out for our Safe Place sticker in the window of the Theatre.
