This week has been a busy week for all at the Octagon Theatre, after 4 sold out shows of the Wizard of Oz a Easter pantomime. It was straight into it with an almost sold out show of the Manfreds on Wednesday 3rd April with original ‘front man’ Paul Jones he performed many of the tracks from the highly acclaimed album ‘The Five Faces Of Manfred Mann’, which was on sale in the foyer, along with a mix of their biggest hits and the jazz and blues songs for which they are famous.
Paul Jones, was joined by Mike Hugg on keyboards, Tom McGuinness on lead guitar, Rob Townsend on drums, Marcus Cliffe on bass guitar and Simon Currie on saxophone/flute – all excellent musicians who gave our audience a fantastic evening filled with some great songs. At the end of the performance all 6 of them came out to meet and greet the audience, they were signing CD’s and programmes.
Tonight it was the evening of the Motown Show now in its 11th successive year, this stunning 100% live show combines first class music together with the slickest choreography, and an amazing band, and it delivered a truly outstanding performances for the best MOTOWN experience for our Yeovil Audience.
